Free Radical Test Kit
The Free Radical Test kit is designed for the home user to self-test first morning urine to check
for free radical activity in the body. It checks for the presence of Malondialdehyde (MDA) which
is the most prevalent by-product of lipid peroxidation and is an indication of free radical activity.
The result is almost instantaneous and can be compared to a colour chart provided with the kit.
This test is more accurate than blood because MDA is often quickly removed from the blood into the urine by the kidneys. Excessive free radical activity has been linked to causes of many degenerative diseases from gene mutation. The result obtained can be used to determine the adequacy of anti-oxidants of the body. Antioxidants prevent free radical induced tissue damage by preventing the formation of radicals, scavenging them, or by promoting their decomposition. Synthetic antioxidants are recently reported to be dangerous to human health.
